La Chilanga

Since the age of 12, Melissa Perez Vasquez knew she wanted to be on the radio. In 2005 she moved to the United States, leaving her family in Mexico City and made her dreams come true working for La Ley 98.9. She quickly signed on to the number one morning show in Austin after which, Melissa gained a following and local fame, eventually making her on of the most beloved and recognized radio personalities in Austin. Today, she co-hosts the morning drive with “El Conejo”.

El Conejo

Originally from Mexico City, Oswaldo Perez, “El Conejo” jumped into the radio scene in 2003 while living in Austin, Texas. In 2006, he began his on-air career which included stints during the afternoon drive show and later hosting a morning show in 2010, which he continues to do today with “La Chilanga”. Aside from radio, El Conejo likes to get involved with nonprofit organizations to help the community and create health awareness.

El Compa Ramon

Originally from San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Luis Ramon Loo, better know as “El Compa Ramon,” joins the KLZT family as the new Program Director and on-air host for La Z. El Compa Ramon comes to KLZT with 30 years of experience in a variety of radio formats including Regional Mexican, Spanish AC, Spanish CHR, Spanish talk, Spanish Oldies and Spanish Christian Music. He’s been awarded the Monitor Latino Award for Program Director of the year in 2013, the Aguila CYP award in Mexico for Best On-Air Personality, as well as many other awards, including a nomination as Personality of year for the Monitor Latino Awards. Outside of radio, El Compa Ramon enjoys being involved in the community assisting organizations like the YMCA.
El Pato En Las Tardes De La Z
Weekdays and Saturday 3P – 7P

Jaime Zapatero, better known as “El Pato,” was born and raised in Rio Verde, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. His passion for radio began when he was 19 years old in Dallas, Texas where he received a great listener engagement. After 11 years, he moved to Los Angeles and became one of the most prominent personalities in Southern California. He is as passionate about radio as he is enthusiastic about listener entertainment and social media engagement.

DJ Luis el de San Luis
Weekdays 7P – Midnight
Luis Ruiz, better known as “DJ Luis el de San Luis,” was born in the capital of San Luis Potosí, Mexico. He began to DJ at local bars in Austin TX and then went on to win a Radio competition. He considers radio to be his great love and passion. Aside from radio, DJ Luis el de San Luis likes to get involved with nonprofit organizations to help the community and create health awareness.
