Weekdays 6A – 10A
Matt Bearden is Texan through and through. From is infectious laugh that could drown out a coyote’s cry, right down to his weathered Luchese boots, Matt is a “Lone Star.” Born on Texas soil, he wasn’t so quick to put down roots. Early in his career, this UT grad hit the road as a standup comic, working with some of the biggest names in the business on some of the circuit’s biggest stages. Back in Austin, Matt hosted and headlined a popular weekly standup showcase at Cap City Comedy called “Punch!” Sixteen years ago, when family life finally stopped his boot-heals from wandering for good, Matt hitched his wagon to mornings on 93.7 KLBJ-FM.
Young Bob travelled the world as the oldest son of a career Air Force sergeant. This is probably how he has adapted to so many roles in his professional life post UT. From television producer, to Erwin Center publicist, to promotions manager for SWA at a nationally respected ad agency, to becoming KLBJ-FM’s first promotion’s director in 1986, Bob has always been behind or in-front of the spotlight. He was brought back to co-host mornings at 93.7 in 1992. He has since been inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. By his own admission, that was not his highest industry achievement. Recently, he weaseled his way into an episode of Food Network’s “Diner, Drive-In’s and Dives!” 30 -years down the road, The Bobfather is still entertaining, and still trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up!
